    Default daycare furniture

I'm making a whole bunch of pint sized shelving and kids benches, etc for a local school/daycare. I'm matching several pieces that were purchased elsewhere (but in KD form) and everything is made from 1/2" (12mm) Baltic Birch.

I'm cutting all the gables (there are 15 individual units, plus other things irregularly shaped) out on my BT48, with my 48" x 48" cutting area, and universal vacuum. Jobs like this are why I needed that vacuum! Being able to throw a 1/2 sheet on the top and press go, and walk away. Very nice

All the grooves and dadoes are cut to accept the shelving, backs etc and we just need to glue everything together afterwards. Sure makes jobs like this simple. Simple means profitable!

Ill take some pics of the completed stuff, this week. Its mostly in the spray room now.

You guys are funny... That part of the shop is the messier section! Yes I work clean, lol

The material is 12mm Baltic birch, cut with a down spiral 1/4" bit in two passes. The material is actually 0.475" thick so I first climb cut to 0.4" then conventional cut to 0.48". No tabs.

Even with the down spiral my dc picks up the shavings on the 2nd pass. I have a 7.5 hp Belfab unit with a cyclone ahead of the fan unit. It isn't huge but does a great job of handling a shop my size. We often have several things running at once and it is just enough to keep up with three of us working.

    No prob Scott

Our 16 month old was SCREAMING all night from 11pm until 5 am. Ugh.

I'm on cup #3 of coffee since #1 son gets me up at 6:45am as accurately as an atomic clock. No rest for me...

Now you know where my avatar comes from. Lol

Here are some more pics. As I said, mostly simple shelf cabinets.

Some a bit more than a box, these are the kids benches/storage units

    Aah.
    Thanks Andrew,
It was the corner unit and the bench/shelf units(LIKE those!) that threw me
    Nice/clean/functional.
Are those shelf/cubicles for the kids personal stuff, or for the toys, nap mats, etc.?

Looks great. Always like to seeing some of the projects you have going through your shop. Especially the ones the Bot helped on.
