I was asked if I would share the specs to the 4th axis I made so I decided to.

here is the link for a .zip file with PDF files of the 4th specs I used
and a PDF on the part numbers for the belt, sprockets, bearings, seals, and stepper motor.

    http://www.mechlinkv3.net/downloads/4th_Axis_Specs.zip

If anyone wants to use the design feel free too.

Thanks for the plans. I'm going to start working on it. Where did you purchase the end stock?

    Thanks,

    A couple of questions:

    1. What type of grease did you use?
    2. Can you provide the pin numbers where you plugged the motor into?
    3. Do you have to do anything special with the motor or does it automatically work with the Shopbot buddy control board?

    Thanks again,

    Rich

    1. I used standard bearing grease that we have at the shop for the bearings.

    2. This is the wire I used to extend the wire from the motor to the shopbot control board
    got it on Amazon.com
    "18AWG CL2 Rated 4-Conductor Loud Speaker Cable"

2.2 Here is the connector to put on the end of the cable to connect to the control box.
    got it on Amazon.com
    "WAGO 231-104/037-000 TERMINAL"

    3. The motor I listed is the one I used if you use another motor then I am unsure, however the motor I used has 6 wires and the control box uses 4
so it has to be wired up a certain way.
I'll post the wiring diagram for it when I get the time.

    4. Here is the link to the original post I had made on how to set this up, you can most of the info there.

Sorry for taking so long been real busy at work.

Here is a PDF on how to wire the motor to the Wago plug
    for the 4th Axis.
Keep in mind this will only work with the motor I used it may not work with other motors check specs to be sure.

    Vexta PK299-02AA stepper motor
    A : black
    A- : green
    B : red
    B- : blue
You'll need to tape off the yellow and white leads you don't use them.

    SB_4th_Axis_Wiring.pdf

here is the unit values I used for the axis, again this is for the motor I used and the gears I listed .

    A Unit Value: -23.80928571428572
    B Unit Value: -23.80928571428572

If it turns in the wrong direction just remove the " - " from the start.

    Under Speed values I use.

    B move speed: 180
    B jog speed : 300

these can be change to what you want I just thought I would share what works for me.
