    Default 3D scanner

I'm looking at this scanner. It's a fule 3D from Scanify.
I need to be able to scan the inside of a boat hull.
Not perfect but close. I really don't know that much about the scanners. Can anyone offer some advise on where this unit is capable of such a task ? The unit retails $1500

    Thanks

What do you need from the scan? Just a general idea of the boat interior? Or do you need specific measurements? Do you really need to spend $1500 when an hour with a tape measure and some cardboard templates will do what you need?

How big is the boat and how detailed is the interior? Is it a bare hull rowboat or fully appointed 100-foot yacht?

Just asking because scanning is not as simple as the sales material often suggests. There is a lot involved in a good scan and a hundred ways to do it depending on your final needs. So a few more details on the subject and your intended use of the results will help.

I have no direct experience with Fuel scanner, but have scanner experience. There are members here that use scanners, so hopefully there will be more comments forthcoming.

Mark, did you look at the videos in the link you supplied? They have one video that is only 3 minutes long, and they show things this scanner is good for, and things it is not good for. After watching that video, it seems clear to me that this scanner is NOT appropriate for scanning the inside of a boat..... unless it is a model boat.

For example, they showed a man sitting in a chair, and showed a big red X, and said this is too large to scan. Then they showed the man's face, and said that IS small enough to scan.

Watch that video, and it should answer your question. Chuck
