    Default Move speed default

When I go to cut a tool path the X and Y speeds default to .30 and .20. which are much to slow. I stop the program and change the speeds and resume cutting and everything is fine. Next tool path I want to cut the speeds default again. I have gone through MS and VS commands what simple thing am I missing.

I'm guessing that your SBP files are controlling the speed (MS,xy,z,a,b command) You'll need to modify the command.

Assuming that you use PartWizard to generate your tool paths, you can define the default speed for each cutter so that the problem doesn't continue when you generate SBP files in the future.

Be sure to edit the tool databse in the software(s) you use to create the toolpath(s) in. Make sure you are using inch/sec and the plunge as well as the feed rate is what you want. You can always "edit" the tool when you are creating the toolpaths but making the tool database what you want the values to be is a real big help.

I delected the metric tools from mine as I do not use metric cutters. I also delected any tools that I do not have in the shop and added every tool I have that I thought I would use. Makes it real fast and easy now.

If this does not answer your question, please aske it again so help can be provided.

    Have a great day!

    Thanks for your help!

the Feed rate and the plunge rate had been change by one of my students to .30 and .20 inch/min. Now I have them set at about (Edit tooling) 600 and 450 inch / min and things are moving more quickly!!
