    Default Martin D-45 table

We were asked to make a “Guitar” coffee table. It was going to be given as a gift… Asking questions, we found that the intended recipient was especially fond of his Martin D-45. Here’s what we came up with…

    The live edge Pecan slab is about 18” X 38” X 1½”

That is very cool Steve and i love the finish but how are you keeping the two sides together? Is it just held from underneath or something in the slot? Excellent!

    Thanks Jack…
We cut the slot leaving oversize tabs to hold it together. Since the tabs all run with the grain, most of the strength is from the attachment to the frame. We considered removing the tabs entirely, but left them in.

Now that's one cool table, wow! It gets my juices flowing for a similar table but doing it as a guitar inlay, hmmmmmmm! Thanks for posting, very cool! Russ
