Default bought these plans yesterday... neat table

The CNC should make making this table a lot easier.

I purchased the drawings yesterday. They look good. I dont know when I will have time to work on it, but I plan to some day in the future... my wife thinks it is awesome. So do I!

    Andrew,

That is neat table. It would be nice to see how it would look if it were made with some nice walnut with a maple centre piece.

Let us know when you have it made.

I was thinking some redwood burl,or a mix of walnut and redood burls (I have quite a bit of each I bought years ago).

I will make the top in MDF to make sure its all working well and then make the tops.

Will start acquiring hardware first. Some aluminum 1/8" sheet needs to be cut as well, for actuation arms. First time I will be trying to machine aluminum on my Shopbot as well. But I figure 1/8" sheet 6061 or similar should cut easily. Ive done a lot of metal work on standard lathe and mill - just not on the Bot'... yet

It looks pretty straight forward. The drawings are very clear.

I kind of skipped thru the video and saw that the price for the plans was $49.00 but didn't see the price for the mechanical movement was? Also the base looked pretty uninspiring. I would think maybe something with some carved legs or a pedestal with some lion claw feet would be cool. Good luck.

According to website mechanism is $450USD and plans are $49. Then add in your other materials. I've seen this design used for a deck table on a large yacht. Very nice design.

I agree that the CNC would make this a whole lot easier to fabricate the parts to be super accurate in their fit.

I look forward to your project Andrew. I know it will be fantastic!
