    Default SB3 sound output

I installed a new control computer, and updated the settings from a backup. Everything seems to weok just fine, except there is no sound output when starting a file. The sound works fine in every other program. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ron

    Ron...
Make sure that there is time (seconds) in the [S] [W] (set warning duration) fill-in sheet and that "sound7" exists in the C:\Program File (x86)\ShopBot\ShopBot3\Media folder

    Thanks Gary!

The duration is set to 2 seconds, and the sound7 wave file exists. Interestingly, it plays fine in adobe audition, but is silent with windows media player. Missing codec or corrupt file, perhaps. I'll copy one from another installation.

Check and try some other sound format settings for your sound card. I've had mine not work and changing it to a different setting worked. For example, 24bit, 44100 hz studio quality.

    Thanks guys,

I tried a few other thing things: Changed the encoding, changed sound card settings, same result. The file plays just fine in VLC Player and Adobe Audition, just not with Windows Media Player. I also tried changing the default Player to VLC, with no joy.
Maybe missing a codec, but that would be odd. I'll play some more and let you know.

OK, found the issue! I just switched my old design computer (Win 7 Ultimate 64bit), to use as my control computer. The playback configuration was still set to 5.1 surround sound, and I only hooked up stereo speakers in the shop.

Still odd that the files played fine in every other player, just not WMP!

    Thanks again for the help!
