    Default Sawhorse Challenge

Hey all, I designed and built a couple of these sawhorses recently:

    Open_Sawhorse_5.jpgOpen_Sawhorse_2-2.jpg

    (Full photo gallery is here)

You can cut them on just about any 3/4" plywood. I've been using Arauco pine plywood from Home Depot. It's $30 for a full sheet and for this project you only need 36x48" to cut one horse out.

If anyone is interested in making one of these I'd love to get some feedback. Every file you need to make one is here:

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-...jVVeDB1SkhONEU

This has 3D SketchUp models, a PDF build guide and parts list, and there are also VCarve and Aspire cut files that you can load right up.

This is sort of a sneak preview for you folks, once I build a few more this will go out to a larger group of people.

Not a problem! Please do let me know how it goes. I would love to see pictures! I already had a ShopBotter make a set in New Mexico on his 4x8 Alpha and he had no problems at all. If it works as well for him as it will for you guys, all you should have to do is run that file that I provided and assemble by following the instructions.

Just about any 3/4 plywood should work, I made it so the slots are forgiving of varying thicknesses.

Ok, I updated the milling files folder. For those of you on older version of Partworks, Aspire or VCarve might have trouble opening the files. If you do, there's a DXF and an SVG in the folder now:

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-...jVVeDB1SkhONEU

That should cover just about anyone on any version. The toolpaths are super easy to setup if you have to pull in the DXF, just cut the .725" one at full depth, drill the holes all the way through, and cut the .6" deep layer to... .6" deep! That's it!

Thanks Eric! I grabbed the file. Not sure when I will get to use it but wanted to be sure to thank you before I forgot!

Thanks Eric for the files. I was not able to find DXF or the SVG file but was able to download Joe's EPS. Thanks to Joe too.

Ok, the DXF files are in there now, I had them uploaded to the wrong spot. That link is all good now.
