This is probably more cabinetry related than CNC, but maybe it can help someone out. I've been using Zipbolts to clamp long pieces of plywood together.
Primarily counter tops, but also other pieces that are normally difficult to clamp, long sections and sections clamped at an angle. I cut templates to fit the Zipbolts on the ShopBot and use biscuits for alignment. The Zipbolts are tightened with a 5mm hex in a drill so the clamping goes very quickly. Much quicker and easier than the connectors that require a couple of wrenches to tighten.
The only disadvantage is, because the clamps are on one side, there is a tendency for the work to bow slightly, so it needs to be clamped flat. I take care not to get glue on the template and then once the glue is dry, I remove the template and screw a scab piece of ply over the joint.
If the Zipbolts need to remain in place, then I use the mini Zipbolt as they are less than 3/4" high. If I'm just using them as temporary clamps, then I use the 35mm Zipbolts. They are just over 3/4" high, so they stick above the ply a bit.

I get the Zipbolts from Hafele, but they are available elsewhere as well.
I've attached a DXF of my template. After cutting on the CNC it needs to be cut in half on the table saw.
