    Default Engraving Aluminum

I have a project I am trying to engrave some aircraft grade aluminum. As I don't have an engraving bit for aluminum, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried used a 60 degree carbide Vbit?

I was thinking of trying .002 at 15k rpm but any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Pyramidal or spade type engraving bits with well defined tip width are dirt cheap (eBay or Amazon). A V-bit may work by why risk a project and the bit?
Another possibility is a very small ballend mill (e.g. 0.03") that will leave less burrs. In any case high spindle speed, slow speed, very shallow cut and clearing the chips.
