I really like your disign. The hacked lamp is a great idea, it keeps both the floor and table surface clean. With all the open concept rooms it is important that furniture looks good from all sides. I like the laser tabs. I am investigating lasers now and would apriciate your thoughts.

The laser is a Rabbit I believe? It's a lot quicker than the shopbot and easier to use (no clamping, tool changes etc). However it leaves burnt edges and has limitation as to material and thickness. Perfect for small hidden sections such as tabs though. Better for cutting plastics too.
