    Default Santa came early this year

    Just basic v-carve. Its 22 inches tall in african mahogany. Not sure that was the right wood for this project. I used gel stain, but next time around i will use stencil ink. Those are railroad spikes that will be used for the coat hooks. Chances are it will never get used, just a cosmetic addition to my house.

    Looks good! Looks like the detail held up nicely. I like the spikes too. Yeah, partial to the appearance of your usual walnut one myself too.

    walnut is my money maker and the mahogany i had on hand. I like walnut better for 3-d and v carving for the mahogany. Its not always like this but appears to be to grainy. I use grain filler on it and its smoother than a babies butt.
