    Default Carving part numbers

I'm looking for a way to carve simple part numbers without changing from the 1/4" straight tool which is used to carve my framing pieces in 3/4" plywood. New user who is planning for first use of my machine.

if you have room you can use that bit just make single line text induct on the line a few hundredths deep. but with a 1/4" bit they need to be a little larger to read them.

I would think 1" or larger. If you use a ball nose bit you might get something smaller.
