    on the gears they use 2 in each hole so if you only tighten the outer one they could still be loose

    Are you running the porter cable router? I had the same issue a while back the bearing on the top of the router was worn out, the one by the on switch and brushes. a wiggle at the collet felt ok but under pressure it was moving.

    Interesting! I have to PC routers; I got the 2nd after the 1st showed a lot of wiggle and I needed to have the bearing(s?) replaced. My first thought was that the bearing on this one was going, but I can't get it to wiggle at the collet.

    I guess I'll make the other suggested adjustments to the table/car and swap in the other router and see how things change.
