When building an outdoor sign using white pvc, do you put a coat of anything over the areas that are the non-painted exposed areas of the pvc?

Paint them white or they will turn yellow in the sun. Exterior of coarse.

Azek (PVC) is commonly used for exterior house trim. I haven't seen any that has yellowed.

    I never clear coat PVC.
With time, four years and over, PVC will have a slight soft beige color but you got to be looking for it. I'd almost guarantee any kind of transparent top coat will fail within a year.

Joe, your work is awesome. Even though I'm not a sign maker, I always check out your posts and I'm always impressed by both your work and willingness to share with the group.

    Thanks,
