Default How to properly square the Z axis on a Buddy

I did my first table surfacing on our Buddy today and the surface is not smooth. Does it mean I should square the Z axis ? If yes, how do I do it ? This is my first experience with a CNC ...

    Thanks,

Make sure the v-rollers on the bottom of the YZ car are snug.

Make sure the machine is perfectly level. Use a 2' framing square to check square between Z & table surface. Don't go off of the spindle or router body.
