Default Timber Rattler Telecaster by Tom Maier

Here is my Timber Rattler Telecaster that I carved out of red oak wood on my ShopBot. It is 90% routed and 10% hand sanded and shaped with flexible shaft drills. Pickups are Lollar Gold Foils and neck is a maple Warmoth. Plays great and feels extra comfortable since I carved it thin like a Gibson SG. I am now creating new guitar designs and set up to custom carve guitar bodies for clientele. Inquiries can contact me at: tlmaier54@gmail.com We also custom cast sterling silver control knobs which make our designs even more unique and functional.back.jpgfront.jpgbody-top2.jpgbttm2.jpg

Thanks Bob. My next guitar design will have something to do with sea turtles, sand dollars and starfish. I just have to find the time to route 'em between home improvement projects.

So glad to see someone showing how they use their router. Seldom we have examples.

Two thoughts, Your photography is excellent. Not sure how you included the jpg's in the line of copy. It may be just that easy as long as they aren't too large.
I love your treatment of the snake. Couldn't be better. Not at all fond of the background. Looks too cheap. I'd be happy to send you a wood texture we us all the time on our signs.

    Absolutely beautiful work Tom!
What Shopbot did you eventually get?
Did you ever get on the road with it in an RV?
Looks like you went with Aspire?
    Congrats!

Hey Dan, I am currently working with a guitarist in the neighborhood to get some sound bites together. I can play but I need someone that is a true pro to deliver the sound bite "messages". The pickups sound great but I want the audio to be professional. Thanks for the compliment Tom
