Purchased in 2015 for $7400. Has been used only 18 times since then (fewer than 20 hours of run time). We are a school and this piece of equipment just makes too much noise to use in the classroom.

Here is how I handled this. I use the machine in a noise sensitive environment and have no problems at all.

The enclosure is a good idea, another idea that may help is to relocate the dust collector. I’m not sure how yours is set up, but in my case, the shopvac collection system makes more noise than the machine does.

If you do end up selling it, you might want to consider replacing it with a 3d printer to keep CAD/CAM in the classroom.
