Default Rusty Rails on Used Desktop

I just purchased a 2015 D2418 that sat unused for the past 2+ years. There are rust speckles on the tops of the V rails. Can I just give it a light rub with oil and steel wool, or is there a better way?

Anything else I should look at before I plug it in and see if it runs?

Very excited to have a ShopBot again, having sold my PRTAlpha 120-60 10 years ago.

That should get it up and going. You need to keep those rails clean so that dust does not get into the bearing. If you start having problems take the bearings off (one at a time) and clean and oil them.
I found that using Dri Slide on the rails helps a good bit. It is sold for motorcycle use and does a great job of lubricating without building up gunk.
