    Default Lithophane modeling issues

    I've been away from the company where i use artcam 8 for a couple years now so i need some refresher info. I need to make a reverse image just like a litho for a bronze casting.

    My issue is, no matter how low or high i scan the photo at when i get it into the program it looks like crinkled up tinfoil or 80 grit sandpaper. The more smoothing i use the more detail i lose. Are there any tips or tricks to help this? Also the detail in the dark jacket tends to just get lost. Notice all the speckles in the dark jacket part...
