Default Confused about v bit feeds and speeds

I purchased a 45 degree insert blade bit from Amana (link below) but am confused as to the settings. It included a vetric .tool file which I booted up in VCarve with 18k/290/148 rpm/feed/plunge rates however on their website it suggests 18,000/40/20. Whereas my GWizard calculator is suggesting 8k rpms.

I confess I'm a little clueless about that portion of cnc routing, I'd normally just defaults or fool around until "well that seems okay" and forget about it but I'm new to v bit engraving and the bit looks delicate.

Where is a decent place to start? I'm cutting baltic birch plywood at about .1 depth.

    Appreciate any advice.

    I normally vcarve at feed rate 60, z 60, 16000 rpm.

V-bit cutting speeds are a bit of a conundrum… The effective diameter of the bit is constantly changing as is the depth of cut! Also, the bit is almost always ramping into or out of a corner. So, unless you’re using the v-bit to cut a constant chamfer, calculating the chip load is meaningless… use what cuts cleanly for your situation! V-carving huge letters in a slab will be different than a verse on a plaque.
