Over the last three days I've received a different type of "robo" call. It's from real people who leave recordings (I only answer calls from known numbers) with two different messages:
1. Threatening me with jail if I don't call them back to solve my IRS problem (I don't have an IRS problem).
2. Offering me generous terms to refinance my student loan debt (I don't have student loan debt).
These calls are just as annoying as robo calls and the IRS one is downright disturbing. What if I did have IRS debt? What if I flipped out at their threats? Bad joojoo overall.
It's just like any conflict. One side has a weapon, the other side innovates to counter it, then the weapon is improved and the cycle continues. There's just too much easy money in this for them to simply give up.
