Default We're looking for ShopBot Camp hosts...interested?

ShopBot Camps have been really popular since the first one in 1999, but have faded recently. We're looking to fix that and revitalize the Camps program, but need your help.

If you're interested or just curious, check out a new post in the ShopBot blog and then drop us an email at campshopbot@gmail.com

If you get a taker in the Northwest I'll sign up.
My first camp was in Oakland CA in 2009, then a Maker Faire or two, one in Kelso Wa. and Mike Millers place also up in Wa.
I would love to host a camp but unfortunately in this part of rural Oregon there are NO ROOMS at the INN.
If you've never been to a camp you are missing a great learning and fun experience. Russ

A quick Camps update. We've gotten a bunch of emails from ShopBotters around the country that are interested in hosting a camp. We're sorting through them and just starting to think about a schedule for this Spring, but for the first round we're looking at Eastern NC, followed by Louisville KY, the Dallas TX area, Chicago, and then one or two in New England. Plus one here on the Eastern Shore of VA for those of you looking for some adventure! Might even make that one a "real" camp....there are several neat CampGrounds in this area!

After that we'll work on West Coast Camps for Russ!

FYI...I personally have an interest in one in the Rochester NY area that might focus on do-gooder projects like Shelter 2.0...a bunch of Shelters have been built there for the homeless community. Let me know if that sounds like you or someone you know.

    More soon...Bill

Russ, I'd host a Camp at my shop in NE WA state. It is beuatiful country up here with lots of outdoor activities. Spokane is about 35 miles away with all the traffic, city stink, overcrowding and crime you'd find in any other big city around the country. There are lots of things to do there though. ID is about 7 miles away. Ceur D' Lane is about 40 miles away with all its entertainment. Plus we have Indian Reservation casino's for those who like to partake in that activity. My shop is about 2000 sq. ft. (after I do my apartment remodel next summer). Two hotels in Newport about 6.5 miles away. Several campgrounds. So if you want to put me on the list in the future. let me know.
