    Default Runtime Error 80004005

Hey guys, been a while since I was on here.....things been working pretty good, until today.

Ran some files last night about 8:30pm, everything was fine. Came out this morning and tried to run a file and got the error message in the title. Clicking "OK" kills the program. Thinking it was a glitch in the communication of the control box and machine I shut down the box, waited about two minutes and turned it on. Tried again, same results. Rebooted everything...same results. Not sure where to go from here. Did a search on the error code here but came up with nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Hey Tom,

Is that computer connected to the internet by any chance...could something have updated over night?

Either way, my vote would probably be to uninstall the ShopBot software and re-install it. Just make sure that if you have made any mods like custom cuts that you make copies of those files.

Yes it is connected to the Inet. Don't know about any updates. I'll do an uninstall and re-install. Thanks for the help.

Un-installing and re-installing didn't help. Still the same issue. Looking for more suggestions/help.

Hmmm. Depending on the version of windows you are running you could try opening Windows update and looking in its history to see if something updated last night, but your best bet is to contact ShopBot support when you're near that computer and see what they can figure out.

Well, I think they have determined that the problem is in the control box. So I guess I need to 1) get the board fixed, 2) upgrade or 3) Find a replacement board.

Well, a new V4g control board fixed the problem. Not a cheap fix, but one I had contemplated over the years about doing anyway. I know they said the new board wouldn't make the machine faster, but (maybe in my mind), I think it cuts faster. Definitely smoother movement. I still think I need to fine tune the z-axis value as it seemed to be cutting deeper than it should on the first trials. I'll check that out once I get home after Christmas. Also some things that didn't work before do now (ie; Z-Zeroing procedure (C2) never worked as it was supposed to). This boy is happy.
