Just purchased a used ShopBot and not going to use the vacuum that came with it. Anyone ideas on this and what it may be worth?

What's the electric motor rated at? 220v? 1 phase? 3 phase? Hard to tell anything from the information provided. I suspect it's not adequate for use with the Shopbot.

The Roots rotary blower AF Series are now obsolete, replaced by the Universal RAI series. The 33 AF blower is typically replaced by the 33 URAI blower. Comparing these models, the inlet size, mounting feet diameter, and speed are the same, but the shaft size has changed from 0.6562″ on the 33 AF to 0.750″ on the 33 URAI.
The AF Series were standard duty units suitable for either pressure or vacuum service. The basic model is suitable for rotation in either direction consisted of a grey iron casing, alloy steel gears, grey iron impellers and anti-friction ball bearings. The unit has splash oil lubrication on the gear end and grease lubrication on the drive end.
By today’s standards, these units were operated very slow and were limited in maximum allowable pressure and vacuum.
Essentially, a nice door stop.

For some people, yes. It won’t hold down 8” X 8” parts but likely could be finessed into holding cabinet sides and doors!

Ah ok thanks guys! My guess was as much. If anyone has a need for it or wants to trade anything at all for it, let me know. Im ordering the Becker Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump from ShopBot tomorrow.
10hp Rotary Vane Blower, Model VTLF 2.250 230v-25.8amp Vacuum. Is this what you guys would recommend? In terms of dust collectors, any favorites or just go with the one ShopBot has on their website?
Talk to Oneida… dust collection is all they do! What you need is based on what you do. My one regret, Oneida customized mine to fit in my 8’ height shop, this resulted in a 35-gal dust bin… it fills way too fast!

This might be overkill but I don't know how big a sign shop you might have. I use a Woodmaster system for my dust collection and I love it. I have all of my wood working tools connected to it with blast gates for each tool. Works terrific. Russ

FYI…
Dust collectors that use “Bags” typically do not filter particles less than 3 microns… Cyclones down to .5 microns… required reading of anyone buying dust collection systems!

Also… in my city, the fire department doesn’t allow PVC pipe to be used in duct collection or for compressed air.
