    Default Optical registration on ShopBot

Is there any way to modify a ShopBot PRS Alpha for Optical Registration.
We print and laminate in-house. And sometimes we need to rout to shape, but have to manually register the mounted material prior to routing. It can be tedious and inaccurate.

Is there a solution with ShopBot and V-Carve?

    John,
Not to my knowledge using SB3. You could however keep the SB hardware and change the controller to WinCNC and purchase their OptiScout plugin.

Would a cross-hair laser not work? They can be mounted to any machine.

I would think that anything laser would be too coarse for the OP's requirements.

IDK about the software mentioned but wouldn't you have to let the machine scan the full material to be routed to find the registration points? I have an inkling of what the OP wants to do and I'd think that manually moving to your marks might be the easiest solution - though I could be way off.
