Default Manual spindle start for etch a sketch mode

Can someone remind me how to start the spindle and make simple straight cuts using the keyboard and Go To commands.

For example, if I would like to cut off some waste material and don’t want to generate a new tool path.
    Thank you.

Alt-1 to set the spindle on, bring up the keypad (spindle should start or at least the message to start it), use keyboard arrows to move or type in commands and enter. Alt-1 again to stop the spindle. Might have missed a step in there, but that should get you started.

I've found it's both quicker and safer to just write a quick tool path and run it rather than doing it "by hand". I have Acorn with the MPG pendant and even with that, it's still quicker, easier and safer to just use a tool path to cut off extra material.
