    Default Geckodrive

I seem to have a bad Geckodrive G302V stepper drive.
Can I use one from elsewhere or do I need to buy it from Shopbot?

You can use any one but make sure you use the old resister. What is the problem it may just be the little green fuse is blown. Gecko will send you them for free or you can call Gecko and get a return number and they should be able to repair it free. I had to send in 6 of them and they only charged me for shipping.

The green fuse was blown, I did replace it thinking that was all that was wrong but it went sparky and puff of smoke. So I think it's done. I think it's 10 years old, would they still do free repairs? I see one on ebay for $80...

If you have a shorted wire to the motor, or shorted windings on that motor, it might blow another new one as well. I went to Leadshine drives, because of so many bad Gecko's I've had to deal with. I threw 4 of the 201 version m in the trash last month.

I think they would repair it if you sent it in but like Ken said there is something else wrong
