Default Z won't plunge into surface

My alpha has been running great. Until today.
I am changing out my spoil board. When I got ready to drill holes into the board for screws, the bit goes about 1/10 of an inch into the wood, then stops. The software keeps counting down like the bit is going on down, but the actual bit just sits at the same level. Then it raises up ang goes to the next hole as if nothing happened. This is a dual Z alpha. A Colombo on the "default" Z, and a Porter Cable on the A. The bit I am using to drill the holes is on the PC. It's been dry and hot and there is alot of static electricty. The machine is grounded very good. But I am wondering if something got "shocked". ????

    Thanks
    Wes

    Okay Wes,

Now that you have got everyone wondering, what was the problem.
