Edges on plexi & PVC

I have attached a pic of the edges that I am getting on this material. The material is 1/8".
I am using an Onsrud 65-012 1/8" bit @ .85 ips at 16K. They say this bit is find for this material. The pic is enlarged quite a bit to see the detail. I am just wondering if this edging is just "the nature of the bot beast" or could/should I be looking at something else to change/adjust.

Do you cut to finished dimensions on the first pass? If so, try leaving about .010” of stock and take this off using a finish pass.

steve is bang on with that info, also reduce your rpm on your router, 10,000 rpm and I would cut that in two passes with a final clean up pass.

Mike, if you will be cutting a lot of this 1/8 inch material, you might get better results with the 65-010 bit (shorter Cutter Effective Length). I found that for the 1/4 inch bits in this series, the 65-023 worked best when cutting 1/4 inch polycarbonate.

If you go to the Flickr pictures for John Forney's 2005 Ohio Camp, you can find the results of test cuts we did to compare four router bits. Fourteen Shop Botter judges voted on the cut quality and the Onsrud 65 series (Super O) did the best job on polycarbonate.

Thanks for all the advice! I did reduce the speed and also added another pass to take off a small amount. This helped greatly. ArtCam Pro has some additional tools which I can use to tweak the cut a little more.
This forum is so great for quick and expert advice, don't know how anyone new to CNC could do without.

I have heard that lubricating a router bit with Kerosene when cutting Acrylic leaves a shiny polished finish. Has anyone tried this?
