    Default PART SHOPBOT

Well I'm using a PRT control box , Shopbot PK 296 3.6 on X & Y ,PK296 7.2 on Z , & a PRT Z Tee plate , The rest was put togather from various sources , Ebay ,Home Depot .The X car & Y car are kinda like a PRS type. The rails are BWC harden steel on the X & Y axis ( lots of drilling & tapping ) ,with #2 wheels riding on them . A PC router 1 1/2 HP mounted with 3" muffler clamps to some aluminum flat bar, that is bolted to the PRT Z. Cut quality is very good

Very nice, where there is a will there is a way- as long as it works and cuts well that's all that matters

I was going to upgrade my 5' by 12' alpha prt to linear rails on all axis, but decided to build a new machine from the ground up. The new machine is 5' by 14' with linear rails from ebay. the control system, racks and 7.2 motors are from shopbot(thought about servos, but liked and understood shopbot system and it works great). everything else was welded or made in my shop. the vac system is made up of 6 domel 130" motors divided up into 9 different zones. I built the machine over a two year period and it weighs in at over 7000 pounds. It runs and works great. The project began small, but grew with every decision to make it bigger and better.
This new machine is the reason I am selling the 5' by 12 shopbot alpha prt.
If you would like to see more pictures of both machines click on the link below
