    Default Jog speed

When saving tools paths to a sbp file, where can you set the jog speed for the machine? Do I have to edit the file to change it? or can I create a custom set up file which holds my desired jog speed?

    Thanks

    Ben

Just type JS,XY Jog speed,Z Jog speed in either your part file or directly into the SB3 console.

Thanks, I had hoped for something slicker than that, some sort of definable set up sheet. Oh well. I'll have go with the Post it note reminder method.

    Thanks Brady

When you put it in your part file you can look at your jog speed for that file in txt format. If you set up the speeds in the CAM file that is what they will be every time you use that file. Unless you edit it.

    Hi Ben,

Jogging is almost always done above the surface between cuts, without any load on the bit, so it's generally not file or bit specific but more tool specific. I don't know your specific application, but for me at least the jog speed is a "set it and forget it" value once I found the jog speeds that seemed right for my ShopBot.
