What I have learned today

DONT use a 3d tool path when a vcarve will do.
3D inc. roughing - 11.5 hours
VCarve - 24 minutes (VCarve looked FAR superior)

Cut speed affects fuzzies not sure I have the formula down yet but it 'seems' that slower cuts make less fuzzies.

'Acceptable' fuzzies has everything to do with willingness to do post bot processing...

A planing bit will sometimes make the bad cut go away.

While you veterans may know this cold. I have to learn everything the hard way.

Can you show us pictures of the two (3d vs. VCarve) so we can see what you are seeing? I'm still learning the hard way too!

..I Always seek the ways to minimize the machining time with superior qualities..

Recently I experimented with CAM software and cut half of machining time... Just in CAM software...

Michael, I should have taken a pic of it. I will have to follow up by redoing a portion in 3D raster vs a vcarve in this instance. Currently I dont know where the gremlins have stored my camera.

Khalid, I created this from start to finish in aspire. So it is primarily 2.5D. All vectors as opposed to a relief applied to a real 3d object. I have bookmarked your earlier post to read up on what you have discovered.

Joe.. I am not pointing to that post of mine in which i suggest to do Raster strategies along the shortest axes and change the acceleration/velocity setting in the controller software..... My that discovery belongs to MACH software only not for shopbot controlling software...

New thing that i discovered recently is related to the CAM software (Artcam, Aspire etc) and especially in doing 3D relief carving... This cut half of my time... still researching for further betterment in the method...
