    Default What Prox Switches does the Shopbot Use

    I am trying to get a set of Prox switches to use in my shopbot but most online seem to be 12v supply and up and I think we need 5v. So which ones are the right ones to use. A model number would be nice.

    Thanks

    Ask for metal sensor and explain your application to the electronic store representative. For homing/calibration, you want something that pretend a good repeatability.

    Paco;

    There is no electronic store in my area worth asking that question to. So Ebay or Digikey will be the supplier, so knowing exactly what I want is important. As far as I know I need inductive, 3 wire and 5v operating. Anything else?

    Thanks
    Mike

    Small, sealed, hardware adjustment included if possible...

    This is something I recently bookmarked to look at later...

    Google search

    Do keep us post on what you go with...

    Mike, I used Sunx model GL-8H for my prox switches. I am quite sure this is the same item that Shopbot used on the PRT. I got mine from Ranco. If you do a Google search for Ranco or Sunx it will lead you to contact info.

    These are designed to run on 12 volts although I have seen them run on 5 volts. Just connect it to the 12 volt point on the terminal block.

    Hope this helps.
