Default Free: Bits, Feeds and Speeds Chart

This "Bits, Feeds and Speeds Chart" was compiled from our ShopBot Forum. I've edited it some. (Most editing was for what librarians call Authority Control -- standardizing the nomenclature and abbreviations.)

I'll try to keep adding to the Chart to make it as complete and useful as possible. Please send any suggested additions and corrections to the Forum or send them to me by Email.

I hope you find the Chart helpful.

Frank, nice job on the compilation, I'm sure it will be useful to a lot of people. A minor correction on line 31, I use a 1/4" depth of cut in hardwoods at that speed, not 1/2". (Although 1/2" might work, I usually keep things conservative to maintain vac holddown, clear chips, etc.)

Thanks Frank, perhaps shopbot may include it in the manual or a suggested cutting guide for users.

Thanks for catching that -- you have a good eye! I've revised the file, and the next publiction will have it right.

    Thanks, again.

Great chart, thanks for gathering the data. Question though, I have a PC router, not a spindle. Will these numbers still work, or will adjustments need to be made? We cut oak and cherry with 1/2" downspirals.

    Thanks.
