I suppose that may depend on what diameter you are looking for. I have a 5hp grizzly vacuum ittakes 6" duct size. I just ran mostly 6" duct pipe from Home Depot. It's cheap and has been working well for me for more then 12 years now. I taped all the joints with duct tape.I also have some runs down to 3" on the system.

I have a new 3hp cyclone from Grizzly with an 8"port
All I have been reading says that I need smooth interiors on the pipes.
I've used standard snap pipe for years with duct tape also.
I'm hoping for the best of both worlds.Economy and efficiency.

It's true that smooth would be better but the only part that is not smooth with gavanized pipe is the fittings and they haven't seemed to cause much of a problem for me. I send a lot of sawdust and debre through mine and it even keeps up with my Jet 20 inch planer taking off 1/8 per pass of rough sawn lumber. It has no problem keeping up with the shopbot at all.

In the past I have even used the cardboard cores from rolls of carpet with PVC fitiings and strap clamps and/or duct tape to seal them. This is about as inexpensive as you can get. Cardboard cores are smooth and have no static.

I went to a local HVAC supply house and the local home improvement stores. I found all the fittings I needed between them and took the time to apply tape to the inside to smooth the joints. Been in over a year now and works well. It was a fraction of the cost of buying DC fittings.

    I'm running a 3HP Onieda

I thought I would share my extraction setup.
My idea was to gain as much suction with each Z axis, so I needed to switch between the two.... doing this manually I was forgeting.

Most of the bits I got on ebay. Now I can switch over from the part file and a modified post.

The swing arm idea was from a fellow botter (thank you).
