    Merry Christmas everyone!

Jack - the coal truck has been given directions to your house. Leave the shop unlocked or he will cut the lock.

I'd have to lean more to Jack's camp here... Christmas has never been a favorite holiday for me, even young I could sense that it caused stress in the family. Stress approached a peak when I was at the "age for Christmas" for one reason or another but mainly finances or lack thereof.

Now that I'm older (even though my wife says I'm not grown up yet) with all the commercialism, arguments over Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, total lack of any authenticity... I've just come to endure Christmas every year. I do try not to let my kids adopt my spirit of Christmas and honestly wish I could enjoy the holiday. But I've had about as much luck with that as looking forward to a root canal.

    Robert,
I too detested Christmas until I realised that no matter where I was in the world and how alone I was and how little I had, it was still Christmas. Xmas is a force or a spirit that exist with or without us. May the force be with you. You don't "do Christmas" you feel it. God bless you all and once again I thank Ted Hall for the commonality he gave us and the "raison d'etre" for the forum. Merry Christmas and have a "botting" new year..

    Terry,
In 67 and 68 when I was on a vacation at goverment expense I spent Christmas in a place that you would think would be a real Christmas killer. But even there the spirit was with us and we made it happen even there. Christmas is not about stuff no matter what the adds on TV say. Stress during Christmas or any time of the year is something that you let happen. My self I have only had one bad day since 1969. I hope ALL here and around the world find a Merry Christmas and joy and contentment in the comming year.

My wish this year is for all the folks who feel the pressure and commercialism to relax and feel, maybe for the first time, that Christmas is NOT about buying, and spending money. Christmas is about what is in your heart. If you only give a warm well meaning hand shake to someone, you feel more of the Christmas Spirit than the person who spends thousands of dollars to impress someone. If you are not spending Christmas with other, buy only with yourself, you are not truly alone - I, and my family will be thinking about you and sending you good wishes.

    Merry Christmas to everyone!
