Default Photo blog of Angus and the Shop-Bot... LMAO!!

Angus has found something new and blue.

    37212.jpg

After a beer and a cigarette, he found rails!

    37213.jpg

    After another cigarette...

    37214.jpg

    And another beer...

    37215.jpg

He pauses to check his notes,

    37216.jpg

    and gathers more parts.

    37217.jpg

He has now decided he's on top of things.

    37218.jpg

Until he finds a box with MORE parts.

    37219.jpg

He has another beer and cigarette and starts working in earnest.

enough what? beer and cigarettes, or work? or both? Tomorrow's another day..that is if his lungs and liver hold out long enough for him to get this done, lol. It looks like its coming along nicely. Now he will be all excited to get it finished and make his first cut on the bot. I remember that excitement, its like when you were a kid and you got that gokart for christmas and couldn't wait to put it together in the basement only to realize you had 2 feet of snow outside and couldn't ride it up and down the alley till springtime. But I digress....
I assume you got an emergency stop with your setup Angus. If so I urge you to duct tape it to your hand for the first week because you will be using it.
I just looked up your profile and you are only about 150 miles from me. I'm in Cville. If you need a hand i'll try to help.

Actually, he did all that yesterday. Today he got that arm thingie with the black belt thingie on! I think that's the thing that moves, lol.

He'll finish putting it all together next week when he gets back from Massachusetts. By the time *I* get back from Mass, I fully expect either:

    A) The entire fire department here (AGAIN!) because he accidentally burned the house down.

    B) Him in full body traction due to some sort of malfunction with said Shop-Bot. (Honey, I swear I didn't think that stray bolt was anything important!)

    C) Every area Shop-Botter upstairs in Man-town helping him finish all the Corona he DIDN'T drink while putting it together.

When you get back make sure you count all 10 fingers and ten toes. Some shopbotters have been known to get their fingers stuck to the vacumn table (I'm still trying to figure that one out Harry) and like i said keep the E stop handy.

He will work and work and work and drink a little .....

Then he will design a nice simple part...

and then he will cut that first part , have wet shorts from all the excitement (because he forgot to hit the little boys room during assembly and wiring)

It won't be pretty... Kinda like a little kid on his birthday, and drank too much soda...

    Angus... WEAR DARK SHORTS..

you will get that nice warm feeling but no one will notice...

good luck with leveling and squaring that table!

    Just a little advice
When i put my bot together i asked my wife to bring me my red shirt . When she asked why i said so if i cut myself no one will see. When i wired my bot to the electrical pannel i asked my wife to bring me my brown pants........

Well I got lucky when I went to pick up my machine. They weren't quite ready for me (finish up control box and crate)
So I had a few hours to kill there at their shop, while waiting and wondering around Got with Ryan P. and he gave me an hour or so of his time going over what to do in the Control box. Since this is his most requested tyope call he figured he'd get it out of the way with some hands on training. So I think I have a good understanding of all that.

BUT......LOL.....I failed to take note of one thing.

HOW DO THE WIRES RUN THROUGH THE E-CHAIN? Through the top and out the bottom or up through the bottom and out the top.......LOL

HOW DO THE WIRES RUN THROUGH THE E-CHAIN?

You have to break open the top of each link to lay the wires in the e-chain. Then close it up when you are completely SURE that you have ALL of the wires that need to go thru it.
