Default Art Cam Pro Post Processor

Does anyone have a good post processor for the Art Cam Pro, one that has the correct speeds or feed rate? Or if you could tell me how to modify mine to give a good speed or feed rate. Mine is not coming up right.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Carl

    Carl,

Call DelCam/ArtCam and they will give you one.

I found I have to edit a lot of the speeds, etc. Each machine is different, different materials being cut, etc...... They give a generic rate and speed for each bit, you have to edit them for your specific application.

You set the feed speeds, stepover and stepdown when you create your toolpath. Experieince will tell you what values to use

It seems Lou and David have the same question as I do.

Are you saying ArtCam should suggest feeds and speeds, and set them for you? It doesn't work that way. If ArtCam won't do what you tell it to, then there is a problem but I doubt it's due to a poor post processor.

    Thanks for all your advice.
I guess I was not very clear with what my problem is.
Under the tools where you edit your feed rate, if I put in for 5 it comes out 8.something, and under the Z, I put in for 1 and it comes out 1.7.

Carl........ not sure why that would do that. I downloaded the latest Artcam files from Shopbot, and the values I enter are what I get.

Sounds like you have the wrong unit settings in your tool database for the feed rates, check you have selected IPS, IPM, FPM or what ever you are wanting to use.
