I am also looking for the tape to make up the ends of a sanding belt. Do you know where that can be obtained?

    Thanks

A&H abrasives is really good and their prices are good. they ship the same day too. they will make any size belt without charging extra for it. choice of grits and type and backing. I get some oddball things made and the prices are good.

    Guys..
Sorry, I always buy mine made up. Maybe some of the places that sell rolls sell the tape also.

for safety reasons I bet you can't find it. it would be something that can take lots of heat.

Ive tried to makeup belts from bulk abrasive rolls but have not found any adhesive tape that will hold up. Clearly there is a solution, somebody must have a product that can do this task..

If safety was the issue, why is it so easy to get what it takes to make custom band-saw blades, or chain saw chains? I would think those potentially much more dangerous than sandpaper. I just want to make specialized belts for specialized applications.

Many vendors offer bulk abrasive rolls, somebody must offer the "joint" tape. So far google has not been of assistance after quite a few searches.

I was just hoping that a fellow bot-er would have solved this problem already.

We get custom sized belts made up by Engineered Abrasives. The minimums and the costs are low.

you may want to check these sites for suggestions on what to use to glue ends of belts together.

PVA glue or cyanoacrylate adhesive has been recommended to bond ends of belt together. Several sites offer both adhesives in a google search. maybe this will be of help.
