    Wayne,
This is a table base I modeled in Rhino and RhinoArt. I did the toolpath with VisualMill 6. It turned out nice. I drew the ball and quartered it with cutting planes, extracted 1 forth and cut it flat on the table, bansawed the edges and it glued together with very little putty. I drew the notches for the leg which also had a good fit. I did the roughing with a quarter inch bit and finished up with an eight inch ball. The wood is pecan except the ball is poplar. Some sanding required. It was a challenge but the customer liking it made my day. The finish is laquer with glazing between the first three coats.

Has anyone tried this? I think it's supposed to design and create tool paths. Thanks

    Michael,

Beautiful table. I think i saw either that model before, or a picture you may have posted before. Did you create that model? The finishing on that is beautiful. It kind of reminds me of a viking helmet minus the horns! good job...

btw: by lining your upload attachments (one on top the other) it would not stretch the post out so wide. What goes on top of the table a glass top? Again good job..
