    Default INLAY OFFSET ?

How do I make the cavity a few thousandths larger than the inlay? I would cut the inlay out using a profile toolpath and the inlay cavity would be cut using a pocket. What function allows me to change the size of either the pocket or profile?

Hi Tim, as was stated in the other thread, the allowance setting in partworks will do it. I used it on the pocket though since I didn't want to resize the inlay. I forget whether I went negative or positive though so you may need to do a test run. Also depending on the detail of the part you may need to go more or less. It does work though.

positive on the inlay and/or negative on the pocket will cause the tool paths to open.

vectric has a video on this on thier site.

I'm with John on testing - Run-out and non-perfect bit diameters will change your fit
