    Thanks Jack,

I wanted to see what else is available on that site so I entered http://cnc3dart.narod.ru/ but since it's in Russian I couldn't read it. So I went to google which has a web translation feature. It will translate any language into your selected language.

I saved one of the files. It is in RAR format. I don't know what to do with it.

    Phil,

That's just another form of compressed file (zip). You should be able to open it (extract) with most zip utilities. If you don't have one, find one that supports .rar format. I use PowerArchiver.

Phil.. RAR is like a "ZIP" file, its compressed using a different program. You can search google for RAR decompresser and get a list of sites where you can get a free RAR extraction program. STL files are big, (even the binary ones, and especially the text ones) and compressing makes sense.

RAR is used mostly in the linux/unix communities and is not common with windows. Its even becoming extinct there, as "gz" is now the preferred method of compressing stuff.

Probably more computer geek stuff than you wanted..

    Good luck

These are STL files. You need something that can do 3D like Artcam or the utility from Vcarve.

Winzip can open rar files. Although I have the latest registered version I believe the freebe opens them as well.
