Close yet again
This job was a remod, in the old layout they had a 36" bar top at the 36" level. They wanted to have a raised bar with some "depth" to it. Thing was the cased opening to the living room is right there at the end of the bar no room to work with at all.
What I did is not at all noticeable in the photo or even in person unless a person spots that the counter depth on the lower level at the bar is at vanity depth 22" not 25" as a typical kitchen.
That sounds simple enough however the base cabinet and drawers are at the full kitchen depth and the knee wall looks like a full 4-1/2" thick wall.
Really the knee wall is a 3/4" back for the most part and the end is built up like a post and the area above the counter is as a wall. The cabinet is encased by the "wall". The home owner got what they wanted minus 3" of counter space.
