Default Some kind of vac/shrink laminate?

My brother-in-law gave me some samples of wall textures that the co
he works for makes- most were raw mdf but a couple had finishes on
them- obviously a plastic laminate and I would guess vacuum bagged
after heating? The corners were not all perfect... but most were pretty
good. Is anyone familiar with this product / procedure? I can see applications
    for it. Thanks Gene

Looks like thermofoil to me. Google thermofoil cabinet doors and you'll see what I'm talking about.
