    Default Signs of Paris

Tourists abandon Paris during mid Sept. and you have to whole town to yourself. And the weather hovers in the mid 70's. The real treat for me is to wander the back streets where you get the true feeling of the talent this place has to offer. Signs in Paris are in a class all to themselves. The general rule is have all the graphics on a building coordinate. Nothing stands alone.

Even the smallest of things are wonderful in that neck of the woods...You can find yourself enamoured by something as simple as a lamp post or mailbox.

I love the first pic - the color of the wall in the bakery scene really pulls you back in time & place...you can imagine being there, and the smell of fresh bread. Really brilliant!

The winter is also wonderful. We were there one year during Christmas season so with the great street lighting in the market areas adding to the ambiance it was magical.
No lines at museums. We went to the Rodin first thing they opened in the morning and had the place virtually to ourselves for a couple hours. Unbelievably incredible.

I should post a few photo's of the doors. Even the fixtures are a work of art. Block for block Paris has to be the most creative place on the planet and with the weak Euro it's a bargain.

I'm still scratching my head about the technique used on these two panels. They seem to be cast but I've never seen such casual textures and lack of critical sharpness. Wish I'd had a magnifying glass but all in all it makes no difference. The end product is all that counts.
