Default Ideal flow from Inventor => finished product (Furniture, etc)

I'm looking for input on the best path for taking an Inventor-created piece of furniture and getting everything cut (optimally) with a Shopbot.

Are the included apps with the Shopbot best?

What sort of file would I export? Etc.

    Cheers

    John

I create two different assemblys in Inventor. One shows the completed 3d assembly and the other is the cutlist (using the same part files.)

If the piece of furniture is only a part - then you will need to use the part as a base to create the parts that you would cut on the shopbot.

I create cabinets in inventor, show the client the 3d assembly & export the cutlist to Vcarve. Aspire or PartWorks will do exactly the same thing. You'll need to create a drawing file and then export as a Acad 2004 dxf.

File - Save copy as - enter name & change dropdown to dxf - check Autocad 2004 dxf

Let me know if I can offer additional help.
