Default New Rotary Tool to clean up 3D carvings

Got another tip which you may find useful.

Proxxon is marketing a rotary abrasive brush manufactured by Scotch Brite. It is designed to be used in a dremel or dremel type tool. Here is the link from the place I bought the sets, not sure of any other sources:

I started with both the 3/4" and 1" sets, which gives you the mandrels also. With the 3/4" set you get 80 and 400 grit discs, and 6 micron. With the 1" set, you get 36, 80 and 120 grit discs.

The instructions tell you to mount 3 identical discs on the mandrel, but I don't see why 1 or 2 discs wouldn't work for real narrow areas.

I've only tried the 80 grit so far, and it works great. Can't tell yet how long a set of discs will last.

    Tim

    Sorry, lets try that again.

Also, a minor correction: The product is being marketed by Foredom, not Proxxon.
