    Default Reversing a stepper

I want to move my Y stepper to the other side of my Y car.
How do I reverse the direction of my Y stepper on a PRT Alpha?

You might be able to make the unit value a negative number, or positive if its already negative.

I thought about that Gary. But then I think if it was that easy there would not be a special cable for the odd X stepper. I don't know. I could try it. The other thing is to try to copy the cable wiring of that odd X stepper. I know that is reversed.

Or I could call Frank tomorrow.

I think If you look at the wiring of the two x motors you can see which wires are switched to provide them to turn in opposite directions.

But the fastest thing to do would be to do nothing, and to just stand on the opposite side of the machine and note the y motor is now on the other side of the y car...

    The - will work.

My Z was running the wrong direction when I put it together. The minus sign solved it.

It is a std, but I'm sure it would work on the alpha.

    Kenneth,

    Man that sounds too easy.

    I'll try it tomorrow.

Well a negative number for the unit value worked.
    Thanks Gary and Kenneth.

BACK IN THE old days WE USED to just reverse the Green and Black wires.

But things MAY BE different with the new equipment.

Do a search for other alternatives or opinions.
