Default A easy idea for prototyping.

I make several different hollow boxes for electronics. for high end audio gear and ipod docs. the problem is all of the time it takes to glue up scrap mdf cut it to size make a jig and cut some out work the inside shape out the holes and countersinks since they are cut on end thats another jig. plus atleast two different homes on the machine and two bit changes. then they test the design and i make changes. way too much time that I cna't fully charge for.
so I came up with this idea. the face plates are the critical factor. but now they are simple to cut out from flat stock and then resawn and planned to thickness.
the dowels give the depth adjustably .the plastic is just to make sure everything fits inside the size of the box. if I need to change the size is i very simple to do and only takes a few minutes. once it is all worked out I can make real boxes to make sure and off I go.

the first three pics show the test box and a somewhat finished one.
